GOLF

The Algarve is one of the best places in the world to play golf, as its climate is perfect. With a mild climate, with more than three hundred days of sunshine a year, it allows the golf season to extend over several months, bringing players from all over the world to the Algarve courses.

If you are staying in Albufeira, you will be able to find several golf courses in the region, and given its centrality in the Algarve, it allows you to easily move between the different golf courses without major mobility and accessibility problems. At the hotel you will have several transfer services at your disposal and if you prefer, you can also rent a car.

On the outskirts of Albufeira there is an 18-hole golf course – Salgados Golf Course, and to the east of Albufeira, two more nine-hole courses, the Balaia Golf Course, which is part of the Balaia Golf Village Resort, and the Pine Cliffs Golf Course, a little further east.

Balaia Golf Village - Albufeira

The golf court of the Balaia Golf Village Hotel was inaugurated in 2001 and it has 9 holes par 3, ideal for starting in the world of golf or for enjoying an intense competition day. It offers incredible views and a unique fairways circuit.

Pine Cliffs Golf Course - Albufeira

This is one of the country's most original golf courses, built in a pinewood setting, with tree lined fairways running parallel along the Atlantic Ocean, giving it's guests breathtaking views along the Algarvian coastline. Architect Martin Hawtree's main concern was to keep the natural surroundings as it was before the course was built. The jewel of this perfectly kept course is the Par 3 sixth hole. The championship tee is built over a ravine that requires a 198 metre carrying shot over the cliffs to a deep but narrow green.

Dom Pedro Millennium Golf Course - Vilamoura

The par-72 Dom Pedro Millennium Golf Course in Vilamoura, Portugal, is often asserted that the creation of the Dom Pedro Millennium Golf Course was pivotal in cementing the status of this region as one of Europe’s most-visited and best-loved for golf. Opened in the year 2000 - comprising nine brand new holes and a refurbished inward half which had previously formed part of the original 27-hole Dom Pedro Laguna Golf Course - this is a more open course that its neighbours, although holes 3-7 wind between pine trees.

Álamos Golf Course- Portimão

Álamos Golf course is a short but stunning test for golf. Having stunning views of the Monchique mountains, lakes and farmland, there is a real sense of getting away from it all here. It is shorter than Morgado (Par 71) but it has all the features necessary to fulfil the expectations of the most demanding player.More than a test of golf, this is a course which attests to the harmony which may be achieved between the man-made and nature itself.
